Service Projects

Hoops for Hope is put on by the Honors Student Association, Kappa Delta Pi, and Active each academic year. Hoops for Hope is a wheelchair basketball tournament. Teams for the tournament must consist of at least 5 people, however more is always welcome. If you don't have a team, send us a message in the box to the right and we can help team you up. The cost to participate is $3 per person. Raffle tickets will be sold at the tournament for prizes as well.

More information to come on the date for this year's, 2016, Hoops for Hope tournament.

The Honors Student Association's second service project is Project Linus. Project Linus is a national organization that partners with group homes and hospitals to give blankets to kids in need. The UW-Whitewater Honors Student Association has partnered with the Rock County Chapter of Project Linus to create a service learning opportunity for our members. In 2014, HSA and 8 other student orgs on campus came together to help make 60 blankets for kids in need. In 2015, HSA held a fundraiser at Qdoba in Whitewater to raise money to put towards Project Linus. This year we hope to double our total from last year. We also hope to include more student organizations, as well as community organizations and the Honors Program from Northern Illinois University.
